Heidi Clum - Halloween drama!

Few days back, the super model Heidi clum sported a strange look i.e. of a Hindu goddess "Kali" for Halloween. Indians particularly Hindu's hurts deeply though I have no idea whether any Hindu organization has filled any Public litigation (which is of no use mostly and are in place to harass celebrities) but reason I brought the issue to notice that celebrities especially should be little more considerate of their actions. Things which are of little consideration for them may be of some serious value to other. This Halloween drama by Heidi falls in this category. Though personally she is my fav model but a little more sensivity towards other would be great.

Fashion - Music review

I usually don't write Music review as I am no expert in music but still I have ear which are listening all sorts of rhythms from last 29 years and perfected enough to differentiate between various nuances of different instruments, frequencies, sounds etc.

Madhur Bhandarkar is director associated with mostly movies (Corporate, Page 3, chandni bar..) which are strong in content and don't rely on typical bollywood format which heavily rely on music to take story forward but Fashion become an exception and that too a good one. Enough to push me to write something on it and also it will kill my long absense from blog.

Coming to Album. It Contains 4 original songs, 1 theme song and 5 remixes of all original songs (which is also quite an fashion in itself to provide remix of all the songs in bollywood flicks nowadays). The music is composed by duo Salim-Sulaiman (SS) who recently earn name by composing chart buster Chak de india of movie with same name and almost become national anthem of India last year. They really look in great form in this album and make maximum use of opportunity given to them on such a contemptory movie on a very different theme not touched by any director so far in India (aka bollywood).

Fashion album open with "Fashion ka Jalwa", song sing by SS fav singer Sukhvinder supported well by Satya and Robert. Songs started in high node with loud drum beat with Satya rendering Jalwa and Robert giving some funky rap. Then Sukhvinder took over with over the top voice giving right punch to words and singing in enthu mood. In between we can listen a female voice in two different place i.e. One singing in Soft English lyrics while another (I guess hard kaur) singing English rap. Overall a decent start to Album.

Second Song start with a very pleasing voice rendering words in arabic which is actually Salim himself behind mike. More and more composer nowadays giving themselves chances to sing song and look like this become a trend now but no problem till they sound good which Salim is as he has very good voice i.e. neat, clean and pleasent on ear drums. Starting music piece is also awesome and I am sure will be used in movie as various places as background. Then a releatively new voice Shruti Pathak took over, who has unconventional dusky voice, but matching the song requirment. The song has every potential to be listen in repeat mode for sometime and will be a great piece for people who loves listening music in car. Song become little dull in middle but still has capacity to become one of the best song of 2008.

kuchh khaas comes third in album and for me the best song of album. But it can confuse people easily that who the composer is, if anybody don't know it is SS, as Pritam is written all over it, as this kinda music is what pritam has perfected over a period of time i.e. Soft ballad with haunting feel to it. Mohit chauhan can undoubtly the best choice to sing this song as he has same capicity like Lucky ali and Faisal kapadia (String lead singer) to make any song special just by his musculine raw vocal cord. He is well supported by Neha bhasin (band Viva member) who I guess has her first bolly number. She was also disappeared long from music scene but I should say that she has voice which can be of some interest to some music director of bollywood but definetly has face to die for so she should try for acting rather then singing alone. Her another Viva member Anouskha too sang some bolly numbers and have definetly better mature voice then Neha. Anyhow, Song really turned out to be great listen and would really be loved by classes and masses.

Aashiyana comes next. Has a very peppy start with Salim again behind the mike for complete song crooning aashiyana words again and again. Song smoothly slip into next gear and become more fast in treatment but comes very easy on ear. Lyrics is ok kind but Salim voice fills the gap and the songs become more then average. It will slowly grip you and I am sure will come out as another winner in already looking magnificent album.

Theame of Fashion is last song of album. It start again with voice crooning in arabic with excellent use of Sontoor strings in backdrop. Then songs become conventional with loud drub beat and inbetween use of Sontoor strings. Also, some alap by unknown singer giving much required feel to theme. Overall, attempt is quite good and I am sure it will be used in movie during fashion shows. This song is again remixed by Midival Punditz with karsh kale. Midival punditz has earn quite a name for themselves in worldwide music scene and has some great work behind them. They have kept the soul of theme intact but made it trance by adding lots of electronic loops. Verdict - good fun listening when car is moving fast and have some shots of vodka working overtime.

I am not commenting on remixes of other songs as I don't like the whole idea of giving remixed versions in album. Let them done by DJ on dance floors. Still, all remixes are done neatly and will liked by people who love loud outdone work on original peices.

Overall, the album has huge potentional and will have all the grooves to turn out as one of the best album of 2008. Still in my opinion, it will be more like by classes then masses.

Rang De Basanti on Star Movies!!

Last Sunday night, I was sitting at home doing nothing except changing channels of my TV looking for something interesting which will make me feel good (Though I am half way in feeling good as Half of Foster beer is already in). And to my surprise, Star Movie is showing "Rang de basanti" (RDB). Probably many of you might feel why I am surprised cause I rarely seen any Hindi speaking movie on Star movies. Its an English movie channel and 99% of time shows Hollywood movies (Or craps). So thanks to them for changing for good.

Also as I discussed that it was showing RDB, I feel necessary to advocate it for everybody as must see. Reasons can be hundred but in summary, it is a movie which portrays very effectively the essence of India i.e. Youth, their mindset, past of India, cultural integrity and amalgamation, present political situation etc. Performance by lead actors especially Aamir khan is awesome and touching. Hats down to Rakesh Omprakash Mehra for making it.

After watching the movie (if you are Indian), there will be something change in you for a while (Not permanent as I am returned to my old self). And if you are not Indian and want to know something about them apart from what you know so far (i.e. People killing your jobs by outsourcing, creators of kamasutra, Indian curry etc), it will definitely guide you to new world about us. So imbibe yourself in this awesome cinematic experience whenever you get any chance and feel the magic of motion picture.

with love

Movie Review: Sarkar Raj

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Govind Namdev, Victor Banerjee

Director: Ram Gopal Verma (RGV)

Review
When I started this blog, I decided to write lots about upcoming movies and music review. I failed. As most of the movie which came off late doesn't pushed me enough to write something about them.

Finally I watched Sarkar Raj (First Day Third show.....why? As I was hugely impressed by Sarkar (prequel) which RGV made on Godfather). Usually it happen with me in past that when I approach any movie with huge expectation, it failed to deliver what I expected. Rang de basanti and Taare Zameen pain though is exception (Both Aamir starer).

Sarkar Raj started from where it left i.e. Abhishek bachchan acting as family power centre controlling his family business of controlling masses and classes of Bombay. A foreign business house (Aishwarya) wants to start a power project which mediators told won't be possible without Nagare family approval. She finally able to win approval and story progress with Abhishek trying hard to get it done. In between lots of up and down happens and finally Senior Nagre required to return back to action. I won't go further with plot as it will kill interest of yours if you really planning to see the movie. If you really are??

Now Pro's of movie. First. Actor working in it. Amitabh as Subash Nagre and Abhishek as Shankar Nagre. Both excel in their roles still Abhishek this time not able to take whole limelight the way he did in Sarkar from his father. Amitabh is at usual best. Aishwarya too did good job apart from looking classy. Other actors too did their work well. The camera work is also good with sepia and blue tint used effectively in most places. Close portrayed face of Amitabh and Abhishek works well as both actors says a lot with their face gestures and eyes. Background music is especially good (even in places awesome). I personally like Govinda chant and Chaah Bhanwar Trishna.

Con's. Too many to render here in this piece of work. Not to be too critical, the story has no novelty in it. It works absolutely on same level where it works in Sarkar means instead of bringing something new, RGV uses the same formula again in story. Screen play too has lots of loops which failed people to engage with him during 2 hrs experience. Example. When Amitabh are in front of Abhishek photo acknowledging that if that the cost of being fearless, he might not chose the way he did in life. For me, he gave me the one of the best cinematic experience of my life. Top notch performance. Still people in Movie hall started talking to each other. What I want to convey is that people in middle of movie start losing interest in it which is bad sign for any movie. Despite great acting people's mind drifted from story and went else where. I haven't observed the same during Sarkar (prequel).

I still think Satya and Sarkar as RGV best work; and won't put Sarkar Raj in same league.

My Rating: 3/5.

Aishwarya and Cannes!!!

Cannes. A film festival started way back in 1947 is almost unknown to most of Indians, may be to film fraternity of India, but I am talking here about any avg Indian movie buff. Suddenly in last 5 years, there is lots of craze, media attention (which eventually drive in avg media follower) and buzz about this festival. Do u really think that an avg Indian still know what these festival actually about or meant to exist. Nahhh! Nobody Fu&*^%$g interested.

Everybody interested in only ONE thing i.e. Aishwarya Rai and what she will going to wear in Cannes. What an absolute crap thing and I as a blogger so hypocrite that despite I know this is stupid act, is still indulging into it. Why? Because I am another fool who is still love Aishwarya and want to know what she is up to in Cannes ;-)

Still I request everybody and also to Aishwarya to do something more meaningful in life then we merely following her, and she merely displaying her off the standard attire and style. She need a better designer and on top of that a good stylist.

Still we all love her no matter how she looks. Won't we?

Anyhow....find what she has been to in Cannes so far!

Amitabh Bachchan......Finally open up!

Amitabh Bachchan!! When an avg Indian person thinks of this name, he draws a picture of a person who has affected his life in one way or another. He is Bollywood superstar, India's best actor, a living legend and one of the most influential person on Indian soil. When he speaks....people in India listen! (at least pay some attention).

From the very start, he spoke less to media, which is the only channel through which anybody can learn, what his thinks. So most of his ardent fans usually don't able to make, what their best superstar thinks about most of things, usually controversies surrounding him. But..But finally at the age of 65..he decided to speak his mind. And the medium he chose his Blog.

Link: http://blogs.bigadda.com/ab/

In his blog, his is mostly (or initially) reacted on things being written about him recently, especially that whole marathi/north-indian conflict. Then moved on to criticize (or defend) other person's opinion about him so Shatru and Salim saheb have some good memories for Amit sahab from nowonwards.

In conclusion, if you love him, you love to read his blog but I personally disliked the content of his blog mostly as person of his stature required to write more wisely and need to behave more maturely. Still he is best person to judge and select the way his want to communicate....in any case...I will still love him for giving me one of the best cinematic moments of my life so far.

Rachel Bilson - Something about her...

I watched JUMPER yesterday. Though I have read lots of reviews, where most of the people actually pen down the movie quite badly, but personally I liked it.
We always not required to be quite technical while watching the movies i.e. How good is CGI, screenplay, camera angles and blah-2. At the end of day, why most of us watch any movie....to pass our time in best possible manner.
Jumper is a good time pass. And the best thing I liked about it is Rachel Bilson. I don't watch US sitcoms usually so never knew that she is regular in O.C.
But probably I will now....I don't know what..but there is a kinda innocence in her which pull me over and forced to right a small words for her ;-) (Good excuse) I liked her performance as well which is no where near to best but still good.

Race - Movie Review!!

Star cast: Saif, Anil Kapoor, Akshay, Katrina, Bipasha, Sameera

Director: Abbas Mastan

Review:
Story of two brothers in which one (Smaller i.e. Akshay) is always wanted to back stab his brother (bigger i.e. Saif) cause he always win the race (no matter whichever is the ground). With lots of twist and turn, finally big one knows small brother plan and change the course of whole thing. There is wicked Inspector (Anil) who help Saif in his plan.

Truly speaking the plot is complete naunsense and even I am not enjoying writing further about it. If you haven't watch or have hand on faced paced Hollywood flick, probably these Indie flicks may excite you i.e. some wire hanging action and some fast paced car's.

Performance wise Saif stands among all. Akshay is some kind of stereotype in his acting especially in this kinda movie (he is too good in Gandhi my father). Anil as good as always. All gals are pretty wasted in movie especially Katrina and Sameera who has nothing to do in movie except some skin show which even not worth enough to cause you some pleasure ;-)

All in all. A dekho kinda movie when you have nothing to watch. Strictly NO for watching on Movie hall as not paisa vasool.

* This time I have intentionally reduced my movie review for giving concluding preview instead of confusing further. Do comment if you dislike/like the approach.

Carla Bruni.....Hype...sensation or much more.

I was, am and will always remain fond of super models. I always chase stories about them....love to collect their pictures and almost knew most of them Off course through their profiles not personally ;-)

But suddenly there is lots of whisper about a supermodel recently about whom I never heard (frankly speaking)....yes you are right....the so called French president girl friend Carla Bruni. So...I though to share some insight about the beauty and her some pics...! Njoy!

Carla Bruni is an Italian-born model who is also the heir to a tire manufacturing fortune. By the late 80's, she was one of the 20 highest-paid fashion models in the world. She fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a singer-songwriter with the release of her first album, Quelqu'un M'a Dit in 2002. Her second album, No Promises, followed in January of 2007.
